Whittet Higgins CNM-22 CollarThe Whittet Higgins CNM 22 is a one piece, mechanically self locking metric clampnut that retains and preloads bearings and other components against a threaded shaft. It clamps onto the shaft threads through a tangential (X axis) socket head cap screw, locking the assembly without a separate lockwasher and without damaging the shaft threads when secured. The integral clamp screw gives infinite adjustment and preloading capability and tangential access
The Whittet-Higgins CNM-22 is a one-piece, mechanically self-locking metric clampnut that retains and preloads bearings and other components against a threaded shaft. It clamps onto the shaft threads through a tangential (X-axis) socket-head cap screw, locking the assembly without a separate lockwasher and without damaging the shaft threads when secured.
The integral clamp screw gives infinite adjustment and preloading capability and tangential access for tightening, making installation easier and faster than a traditional locknut-and-lockwasher arrangement while eliminating the need to cut or repair a shaft keyway. A black-oxide coating with wax finish resists corrosion, and the design meets and exceeds the specifications of ISO 2982-2:2013(E).
The base threaded nut is carbon steel with a hardened alloy fastener, rated for a maximum operating temperature of 300°F. Manufactured in the USA and RoHS compliant.
